Upside Down

Upside Down Missions

Turning things Upside Down with ice cream

James and John, two of Jesus’ disciples, asked Him one day for positions of honor and importance in His kingdom.  (Mark 10:35-45)

Jesus replied that the brothers didn’t know what they were asking. Then He outlined the qualifications for greatness in God’s Kingdom.

In order to be important in the Kingdom of God, Jesus said, we must be willing to be a servant; the most important in the Kingdom will be the ones who don’t seem very significant now.

That’s upside down from the way we think.

Acts 17:6 relates a time when the followers of Jesus became known as people who turned the world upside down.

At CHARM, we want to be going with Jesus as He continues to reconfigure our world. We want to be Upside Down people.

That’s why we try to be servants in our community.

If that appeals to you, you may want to join us in Townsend as we live out our faith and demonstrate God’s love in very practical ways.

Some Upside Down things we do here are baking cookies and taking them to workers in retail shops. We buy ice cream and ice cream cones at a grocery, walk right outside and give it away. We take freeze pops to people working in the hot sun. We prayer walk our neighborhoods.

We are able to do these things because Upside Down people from churches volunteer to come to Townsend and become servants for Christ.

If that appeals to you, you may want to join us in Townsend for a few days or for a week, living out your faith and demonstrating God’s love in very practical ways.
