Disaster Relief
Hurricane Helene 2024
Serve Those In Need
Natural disasters are traumatic, devastating experiences that deeply affect us beyond the physical destruction. Disasters highlight how fragile life is and the need for hope and healing.
We were created for eternal joy in a loving relationship with Jesus Christ, the Creator and Sustainer of all things (Colossians 1:15-23). Only by God’s grace in Christ can we receive salvation and experience true healing and peace.
PRAY
The only, sovereign God can do more in five seconds than we can do in five lifetimes. He is merciful and gracious, and he wants to display his power to us by our dependance on him in prayer.
“God has given us prayer, not primarily as a method for getting things or changing circumstances, but as a means of cooperating with Him in His great plan for the redemption of the lost and other great spiritual exploits.”
– Tom Elliff
GIVE
100% of your financial gift goes directly to the work of Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief.
The financial need is great as Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief aids those in need. Water purification systems are one example of their expenses, as many are without drinking water. Giving financially helps with both the short-term and long-term needs.
"We network together across various states to accomplish our work together without a cost to those who have been affected because of the generous support of Southern Baptists!"

DONATE ITEMS
Important Word from Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief:
"At the beginning of a disaster many people flock to meet the immediate need of those affected.
Often towns are overrun with donations, and people must spend time/manpower finding places
to put everything and manage the flow of goods.
Meeting short-term needs is a necessity, but we encourage you to also think about the long-term needs
of rebuilding and rehoming. Think about when you moved into your first home,
what were the things that you needed to fill out your home?"
(this document contains a list of short-term donation needs and a separate list for long-term donation needs)

VOLUNTEER
At this time, we are asking those who own a closed trailer to volunteer by allowing our association office to use your trailer for storage and transportation of donated items. Please email us if you can volunteer (media@cbalive.org).
TENNESSEE BAPTIST DISASTER RELIEF
Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief is a cooperative, volunteer ministry with over 2,000 credentialed and trained volunteers from churches and associations who are ready to respond in times of disaster.

Volunteers must be trained and certified to serve with TBDR.
The organized, trained efforts of TBDR bring help, hope, and healing to communities suffering in disaster areas.

TBDR is nationally recognized with Statements and Memorandums of Understanding in place with organizations such as the American Red Cross (ARC), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and more. Because of these agreements, TN Baptist Disaster Relief is normally one of the first to respond with Disaster Relief services during a time of crisis.
